Vision

To become one of the outstanding departments in education, research, and application of industrial engineering in Turkey, as well as a reputable department in international platforms that produces national and international research projects, generates new strategies for solving problems by internalizing scientific developments, disseminates knowledge widely, utilizes limited resources efficiently, and educates leader engineers of the future.

Mission

Blending an internationally accepted curriculum with original research studies, our department aims to graduate engineers who:

  • Internalize current scientific methods for designing, developing, and managing manufacturing and service systems,
  • Have advanced capabilities in systems thinking, analytical problem solving, modeling, and research,
  • Follow and can use contemporary technologies in problem-solving,
  • Have effective oral and written communication and teamwork skills,
  • Can take technical and management responsibilities in national and international institutions,
  • Have a sound scientific, technical, and social background and are sensitive to social issues with a sense of ethical responsibilities.

Program Outcomes

  1. Ability to solve complex industrial engineering problems using mathematics, basic science, and engineering knowledge,
  2. Ability to determine, define, analyze, model, and solve complex engineering problems in industrial and service systems,
  3. Ability to use contemporary and modern techniques in designing industrial and service systems subject to realistic constraints,
  4. Ability to use information technologies to solve complex industrial engineering problems,
  5. Ability to collect, process, model data, conduct experiments, analyze and interpret results for solving complex industrial engineering problems,
  6. Ability to work individually as well as to participate effectively in intra- or multi-disciplinary teamwork when tackling industrial engineering problems,
  7. Ability to communicate both orally and in the written form in Turkish as well as in English,
  8. Ability to follow technological innovations in order to adapt themselves to the changing conditions and commitment to lifelong learning,
